The Synestrology API is powered by the Swiss Ephemeris, the same astronomical engine used by professional astrology software worldwide. Planetary positions are computed to sub-arc-second precision for any date between 1900 and 2100. This is the same calculation layer behind our public tools, now being packaged for programmatic access.
All calculations are self-contained. There are no external API dependencies in the chain. Natal charts, Human Design bodygraphs, and numerology profiles are computed entirely on our infrastructure. The API returns structured JSON from REST endpoints, rate-limited per tier. Authentication is handled via API key.

Do I need to understand astrology to use the API?
No. The API returns computed data with human-readable labels. The AI narrative tier generates plain-language interpretations you can surface directly to your users.
What calculation engine does the API use?
The Swiss Ephemeris. The same engine used by professional astrology software and research institutions. We cross-validate against NASA JPL Horizons data to confirm accuracy.
